The Perfect Music Never stops? |
We all know, or most of us, about the spectacular Truckin on 11-6-77 broome county show- but this MNS is truly exceptional- to think this is really less than 3 years old as a song- it is nicely jammed out- considering the jamming bridge at the end was just added in this year, this blows the mind- goldilocks MNS- not too short, not too long, not too spacey, not too straight- not the best perhaps, but far from the worst:

Re: The Perfect Music Never stops? |
I really like 5/22/77. It's rather compact compared to some of the other ones kicking around out there, but Jerry's wobbly cowboy leads in the ending jam are fire.
I would also be interested in hearing other, potentially "better" MNS's.

Re: The Perfect Music Never stops? |
ive always been a huge fan of 5/7/77 for MNS....not very original but i think its famous for a reason. jerry goes crazy with the trills as the jam climaxes.

Re: The Perfect Music Never stops? |
Liam,
The best is from DP18, and it's one of my favorite performances ever from the band (available for 99 cents from iTunes). I make five renditions the next best - 5/7/77, 6/9/77, 10/16/77, 11/6/77, and 1/22/78 (in no particular order).

9/3/77 is pretty ballsy right off the bat.

Re: The Perfect Music Never stops? |
9-25-81 in Bethlehem, PA is one of the all time Music Never Stops. Unfortunately, just as the ending jam really takes off the soundboard gets cut, but a somewhat decent aud saves the day. If you're fond of this time period, then this is a must have.

Re: The Perfect Music Never stops? |
Liam- I found an even better one just last night- 12-31-77
much attention is given to set 2 of this show and rightly so- but set 1 is shining too
